When Mary Lou’s former dentist retired he recommend she go to Atlas Dental Specialists. “I trusted his judgement and he thought very highly of everyone at Atlas. So I scheduled an appointment and have been there ever since.” One of the first things new patients receive when they come is an evaluation which includes x-rays and an overall dental health check. “I’ve always taken my dental health seriously and take really good care of my teeth. I go for regular cleanings every three months. So I was pretty surprised when Atlas took my x-rays and discovered that one of my teeth had a pretty serious infection. This ultimately required the tooth to be extracted and replaced with a dental implant. Dr. Mangini was amazing. He did a fabulous job and everything turned out perfect.”

Stephen moved to Pittsburgh nearly five years ago. He decided to look for a dentist in the area who could help him achieve the smile he had always wanted. This was the case for Omi. “The only time I really went to the dentist as a kid was for dental emergencies. Mary Alice is a Pittsburgh native and had been going to the same dentist for over 40 years. “Unfortunately, I’m one of those people that just had bad teeth since childhood. Every tooth in my mouth but two has needed to be capped. A lot of the problem is hereditary, but I also used to chew a pack of gum a day. I had gone through the drill, fill, and pull routine many times and constantly needed something done. My previous dentist did a really good job, but some needs that I had required a higher level of dentistry. I was referred to Atlas Dental since they are prosthodontists and can do much more than just general dentistry.”

Since Mary Alice first came to the office she has needed a wide range of services including crowns, implants, bridge, tooth extractions and more. “I’m an ongoing maintenance project, and had very high expectations for Atlas. I’d had a calcium deposit on one of my front teeth that I didn’t think was possible to remove without a very invasive and painful process.
